More shows are being worked on and will be posted (hopefully!) soon.

Here’s The Plan

I will not have enough time to finish a full length album as quickly as I would like so I will be putting out an EP in June with a full album due out in late July/early August. The soon-to-be-titled EP will be available as a download (for around $2 with each song available for download as well). I will also be printing the EP on CD format, but there will only be 100 copies printed and they will only be available at my shows. The EP will be done entirely on 4-track, which I’m really excited about.

Speaking of shows, I’m currently working on multiple shows this summer. The only one confirmed so far is in Bowling Green, KY on June 19th. I’m working on one the next night and I’ll add it as soon as it’s official.  If anyone could give me a hand in the booking department please send me an email.

Look for more details in the next few days…

Recording Update

After posting the brief message about how I’ve decided to make Plum Flies an album rather than an EP, I thought I should elaborate a tad bit more on what’s going on. I’ve been recording the EP since February in short sessions with my good friend John.  Since neither one of us have a huge amount of time to dedicate towards recording, we haven’t gotten as much done as we would like.  So far we’ve gotten 4 songs completely recorded (minus a few minor touches) with 2 more ready to be tracked.  I’ve came into some more free time so I figured I would just write an entire album. I’m really hoping everything will be finished and ready to be pressed by June. As with everything, time will tell if it’s completed by then. However, I can promise you that Plum Flies will not be a Chinese Democracy.

Here’s a little bit of information on the songs that have been recorded or are about to be…

We’re Sinking In The Mire
This is the oldest of my songs I’ve recorded for Plum Flies. I did release the song on my last EP Simple Songs From a Simple Mind, but this is an updated version that sounds much better. A lot of elements have been added to the song. If you’d like to hear the older version go to the Music page.

Learning To See Through Walls
This song is a slow waltz-type song. It’s pretty different from anything I’ve written before. It has a steady kick and snare through the song that kind of gives it a haunting feel.

First, The  Good News…
This was my attempt at writing a bluegrass/Bob Dylan type song. I’ve worked on this song more than any so far, we actually recorded it twice. It’s coming along well and I’m pretty happy with it. It’s the most upbeat song I think I’ve ever rendered.

A New Song
I couldn’t come up with a title for this song, so that’s why it’s called A New Song. It MAY be my favorite of the new batches of songs so far.

Bump In The Night [Working Title]
I haven’t recorded this song yet, I actually just finished it a couple of hours ago.

A Quick Note

I have decided that rather than put out a 5 song EP, I’m going to instead make “Plum Flies” a full-length album. Tentative release date is June.

News 3.31.08

Hope everyone is enjoying the new site. It’s constantly being worked on and new stuff will pop up every so often. If you find any errors or bugs on the site shoot an email over to mail@theutterlyindifferent.com so it can be looked at. Onto MS&TUI news…

I’ll be heading back into the studio this Wednesday to wrap up recording for my upcoming EP, Plum Flies. A couple more songs need to be recorded and a few final touches made and it should be finished. I’m still hoping for a mid-to-late April release. My good friend Rob is working on the album artwork.

Our first official show will be April 7th at The Dame. If you can, come out and watch the show. Also on the bill is Jasmine Fouts. It should be a great time.

New Site

Hey hey! Working on the site as you read this. Hopefully it’ll be completely functional within a few days. For the time being, go to our MySpace page for updates and such.

3.31.08 - Still adding different things, the “Music” page has been added. Everything works fine, except for when you click on a song. You’ll get a “Not Found” error. I can’t figure out why the program generates a page for each song. Anyway, feel free to download Simple Songs From a Simple Mind it’s free.
